BSEB suspends affiliation of 178 aided, 3 unaided secondary schools

NEW DELHI: The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) today suspended the affiliation of 178 aided and three non-aided secondary schools. The decision was taken during the meeting of the newly formed governing body of the board.

The meeting was held under the chairmanship of BSEB chairman Anand Kishore. The board found that the schools failed to fulfil the provisions mentioned in the Bihar School Examination Board Affiliation Regulations, 2011.

The board said classrooms, teachers, laboratory, computer room, computer electricity system, toilet room and common room for teachers/students were not up to the standard of 178 schools whose affiliation was suspended.

The affiliation of three unaided schools – Girls High School, Dhekha, East Champaran; Mathura Prasad Girls High School, Rajapakad, Vaishali; and Girls High School Virra, Bhagwanpur Jehanabad – was suspended for not meeting the land standard, non-cooperation with the investigating officer, complete closure of the school and zero enrolment.

Decision on faculty-wise seats

It added that the review application of 196 institutions – 181 higher secondary schools and 15 inter-level colleges – were received. These institutes were reviewed, following which the board gave approved faculty-wise seats of 14 higher secondary schools and inter-level colleges. The board also granted affiliation to one institute.

Strict action of Bihar education department

The Bihar education department has raised the vigil to ensure quality education and attendance of both students and faculty. Recently, the department deducted the salaries of more than 2,081 school teachers, who were found absent from duty during inspections. It also suspended 22 others for various teaching violations in the last four months.

The department has striked off the names of more than 20 lakh students from government schools for remaining absent. These include 2.66 lakh students who were supposed to appear for class 10 and 12 board exams.
