Indian Institute of Management, Indore(IIM Indore) has successfully conducted the CAT 2020 slot 1 which was scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. CAT 2020 was conducted in computer based mode. According to the candidates who appeared in the CAT exam, the overall difficulty level of the exam was easy to moderate. The CAT exam pattern had multiple changes. CAT 2020 slot 1 analysis comprises the section wise difficulty level, changes in exam pattern, expected cutoff, number of good attempts and experts’ analysis of overall CAT exam 2020 for slot 1.

According to Mohit Garg, who gave CAT 2020 for the first time, the quantitative aptitude section was easy though a bit lengthy. The VARC section was difficult to attempt in 40 minutes time limit. There were two sets in DILR with six questions each and three sets of 4 questions each.
On the other hand according to Shivam Shukla, another candidate, the VARC section was easy to read but had tough options, DILR was tough, though manageable. The quantitative aptitude section was easy but lengthy and time consuming.
CAT 2020 Slot 1: Major Changes Introduced
There are a number of key changes that were observed in the CAT 2020 exam paper, in comparison to CAT 2019, which are likely to remain the same for the next two slots too. Check below the changes introduced by CAT 2020 exam convenor.

CAT exam duration was reduced to two hours as against three hours in previous years

A total of 40 minutes were allotted for each section which used to be 60 minutes in CAT 2019

CAT 2020 is conducted in three sessions this year instead of two sessions

In CAT 2020 slot 1, the number of questions were reduced to 76 instead of 100 in previous year
-
MCQs have negative marking for each wrong answer while non-MCQs do not carry any penalty of negative marking in CAT exam
What after CAT 2020 Slot 1?
After the completion of slot 1, the next slot of CAT i.e slot 2 will start from 12:30 p.m till 2:30 p.m. In these two hours after slot 1, candidates can check the slot 1 CAT analysis provided by the Careers360 in accordance with the different coaching institutes and candidate’s experience.
