For schools located in winter-bound regions, the practical exams will be held earlier, from November 5 to December 5, 2024. The board has also issued detailed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and guidelines specifically for these schools, which will remain closed in January 2025.
The board has noticed that schools often make errors when uploading marks for practicals, projects, or internal assessments. To assist schools in conducting the CBSE board exams 2025 and practical exams 2025 smoothly, the board has provided a list of Class 10 and 12 subjects, including the following details:
- Class
- Subject code
- Subject name
- Maximum marks for the theory exam
- Maximum marks for the practical exam
- Maximum marks for project assessment
- Maximum marks for internal assessment
- Whether an external examiner will be appointed for practical or project assessment
- Whether the board will provide a practical answer book
- The type of answer book to be used in theory exams
CBSE has urged schools to carefully review this list and ensure correct marks are uploaded to avoid causing inconvenience to students. It emphasized that once marks are submitted, they cannot be changed.
CBSE Board Exams 2025: Passing criteria
For the CBSE Class 10 and 12 board exams, the passing criteria are as follows:
- Theory Exam : Students must score a minimum of 33% in each subject's theory examination.
- Practical/Project/Internal Assessment : Students must also secure at least 33% in the practicals, projects, or internal assessments, if applicable to the subject.
- Overall Marks : To pass a subject, students need to achieve 33% in both the theory and practical components combined (where applicable).
