Priya Mohan, HOD English of the Seth Anandram Jaipuria School in Ghaziabad said that the CBSE English paper for the Class 12 term 2 exams was easy and the students could finish answering the paper within the given time. She opined that the questions in the reading section were easy to understand and the questions in the writing section were simple, enabling the students to attempt the questions with accuracy. "As far as the Literature sections of all the three sets are concerned the students could attempt the questions with precision with thorough knowledge of the text. CBSE has successfully maintained the level of ease in all the three sets and the students were elated after answering the paper," she said.
Seema Behl, principal of Brain international school, said that the CBSE 12th English question paper was moderately difficult. She said that the literature section was the difficult part and that the paper was designed in such a way to assess all the parameters of the language. According to her, the questions were unevenly distributed across the CBSE term 2 syllabus Class 12, and an important poem "A Thing of Beauty" was given amiss in the exam.
Sreemoyee Banerjee, who is the HOD of English at Shiv Nadar School, Gurgaon said that the English paper was balanced. According to her, the short-answer questions asked in the CBSE English paper today in the literature section were direct. She said that students with a thorough understanding of the texts will be able to answer these questions. "Most students should also be able to tackle the long-answer questions, except perhaps the one on Aunt Jennifer's Tigers which would require some degree of higher-order thinking," she said. She further said that the questions in the reading comprehension part and the writing tasks part of the paper were as per the expectations.
