CIL recruitment 2024 through GATE score; Coal India announces 640 management trainee vacancies

NEW DELHI: Coal India Limited, a public sector undertaking under the ministry of coal, Government of India, has invited applications for recruitment of management trainees in E-2 grade through Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE 2024) score. Application process for a total of 640 vacancies will commence from October 29 through the official website, coalinindia.in.

The last date for candidates to submit their application form is November 28 up to 6 pm. Eligible candidates should have appeared in the GATE 2024 exam and should have scored the required marks. Such candidates will be shortlisted discipline-wise and category-wise, in the ratio of 1:3 in order of merit for further selection process.
The upper age limit is 30 years as on September 30, 2024, for general unreserved category and EWS category candidates. OBC candidates will be given an age relaxation of 3 years, and SC, ST will get a relaxation of 5 years.
In case of tie in GATE score, the CIL will use a tie-breaking method to finalise the merit list. An applicant scoring a higher percentage mark / CGPA in minimum eligible qualification will be placed higher in the merit list. If the tie persists, applicants who are senior in age will be placed higher.

CIL Recruitment 2024: Eligibility
According to the eligibility criteria, candidates should have completed BE, BTech, BSc Engineering, MCA, and relevant engineering degree with a minimum aggregate of 60%. For SC, ST and Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) candidates, relaxation of 5% is given in the minimum qualifying marks ie. 55%.
Those who are currently studying in the final semester, year, or tri-semester of session 2023-24 should have also appeared in GATE 2024 and should be in the list of qualified candidates to be eligible for CIL recruitment. It also issued clarification on relevant branch of engineering.

CIL Recruitment 2024: Salary
Selected candidates will be placed as Management Trainees in E-2 Grade in the scale of pay of Rs 50,000 – Rs 1, 60,000 at the initial basic of Rs 50,000 per month during the training period.
“On successful completion of 1-year training period and passing the test conducted for the purpose, regularization will be in E-3 Grade in the scale of pay of Rs 60,000 – Rs 1, 80,000 at the initial basic of Rs 60, 000 with probation for 1 year, if not extended,” it said.
