CUET UG 2024: Forgot to apply for a university? NTA offers option to add even after registration

Try NowNEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has made a provision to modify or add courses and colleges even after submitting the Common University Entrance Test - Undergraduate (CUET UG 2024) application form. The CUET UG registration process is underway and several aspirants have reported technical issues while filling the form. In this regard, the NTA has answered frequently-asked questions on CUET 2024.

The CUET UG 2024 registration last date is March 26. Several applicants claimed that the CUET application form did not have Delhi University in the list of participating universities.
They also expressed their concern about the admission process if they fail to opt for the university in the application. However, the NTA has clarified that the students will be allowed to add, remove or replace courses or university even after the successful submission of CUET UG online application form. However, additional fees will be charged for selecting more subjects.
The NTA asked candidates to indicate the names of the participating universities where they intend to apply to facilitate sharing of data post result. It also said that there is no cap on the number of universities that can be selected. However, candidates can only appear in a maximum number of 6 tests. It further clarified that they do not have to give the order of preference in the application form.
“In order to support the candidates, a provision has been made in the application form to add more subject (test) / Course (programmes) / University even after the successful submission of online Application Form of CUET (UG) – 2024. Universities and their offered programmes are dynamic and are being updated regularly,” the official statement read.

Forgot to opt a university in form? Here’s what to do
Candidates will be allowed to participate in the counselling process in their desired university even without adding it on the CUET application. The participating universities or any other organization “may admit any candidate who has appeared for CUET (UG) - 2024 irrespective of the fact that the candidate has chosen that university” in the application form.
Moreover, candidates will be offered admission only if they fulfil the eligibility criteria for the course where the admission is being taken. The NTA informed that the details of the CUET score of all candidates will be shared with all participating institutes.
How will universities offer UG admission?
CUET is the national-level entrance exam for admission to UG courses offered in central, state and other universities. The eligibility criteria for admission will be unique for each university and the details will be uploaded on the official websites of the respective institutes.
Admission to a course is offered based on a variety of factors including eligibility, seat matrix, reservation, CUET score, admission policy. The institute will conduct separate counselling rounds and all eligible candidates with a valid CUET and Class 12 score will be considered for admission. The merit list will also be issued separately by the institutes.
