The CUET UG 2025 result will be based on normalisation. Since the same papers were conducted in multiple shifts due to the high number of applicants, different question papers were used. To remove the bias of one question paper being easier/harder than another, percentiles will be calculated for each individual shift. All applicants will then be ranked on the basis of this percentile.
CUET UG 2025 included 37 papers, which was inclusive of 13 languages, 23 domain-specific subjects, and one general aptitude test. Indian nationals belonging to reserved categories - other backward classes-non creamy layer (OBC-NCL), economically weaker sections (EWS), scheduled castes (SC), scheduled tribes (ST), persons with benchmark disabilities (PwBD) - will be admitted to seats reserved for them according to each separate educational institution.
The CUET UG exam pattern saw some significant changes in 2025. The number of papers was reduced from 61 to 37. Candidates were allowed to choose a maximum of five papers only, regardless of what subjects they studied in Class 12. All the papers were in computer-based test (CBT) mode, with 50 compulsory questions to be attempted. The number of cities in which the exam was conducted was also decreased from 354 last year, to 285 cities in India.

CUET UG result will include the accountancy/book keeping paper and the Tamil and Urdu papers, which were postponed and later conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
Some institutions, like Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI), use CUET UG for admissions to only a select few courses. Many courses are filled through other entrance exams or Class 12 marks. In JMI, UG programmes like Bachelor of Arts (honours) political science, Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), and Bachelor of Science (BSc) mathematics do not use CUET UG for admission.
