Last year, the highest first cut-offs for admission in BA (Hons) English in Lady Shri Ram College for Women, St Stephens and Miranda House were 99 percent.

While St Stephens conducts its own admissions by releasing separate cut-offs, Delhi University offers admission to BA English through merit-based cut-offs every year. This year, DU UG cut off 2021 is likely to be released on October 1. The cut-offs are likely to rise as more students scored higher marks this year.
DU officials will be holding a series of meetings with college principals to finalise the cut-off schedule that is likely to be released by next week, officials told PTI. The university plans to release its first cut-off on October 1 to accommodate students who are appearing for improvement or compartment exams, the officials added, as per PTI report.

Moreover, last year the lowest cut-off for admission in BA (Hon) English was 90 percent at Satyawati College Evening.
Students need to score equal to or above these cut-offs to secure a seat in the DU colleges. For admission, a student's marks in "best-four subjects" are considered. The relevant score is an average of the scores the student has done best in. The four must include the score in English.
While the board exams were cancelled in the state due to COVID-19 pandemic, the Central Board of Seconday Education (CBSE) and other boards declared Class 12 board results 2021 on the basis of an alternate evaluation criteria.

CBSE announced Class 12 board results on July 30 and this year, the results have been high with many students securing higher marks as compared to the previous year.
Over 2.87 lakh students have applied for DU's undergraduate courses, down from 3.53 lakh applications last year, with the maximum students from CBSE.
