NEW DELHI: The University of Delhi will conduct the second phase of the online open-book exam or OBE from September 14 to October 3.
Considering the feasibility, the university may conduct the exam in a blended format - a mix of offline and online mode. Students who have either not appeared or have failed to submit the answer scripts in the first phase of DU OBE can appear for the second phase, an official notification said.
The exams will be conducted for undergraduate and postgraduate courses including the School of Open Learning (SOL) and Non-Collegiate Women's Education Board (NCWEB).
Further, students with physical disabilities will be given a chance to improve their scores obtained in the first phase of the exam. “The best grade/marks secured by the student based on the two examinations shall be taken into consideration for the preparation of results,” the notification said.
The first phase of DU OBE which began on August 10 will conclude on August 31. The examination form for the second phase will be released on August 30.
Second phase of DU OBE 2020
Students who are unable to appear for the exams in Delhi will be allowed to write the exams remotely. The university will send the question paper to their registered e-mail of the examinee.
Like the first phase, the students will have to submit the scanned images of their answer scripts to the emails.
To appear for the second phase, each student will be required to fill the examination form and mention their preference for an online or offline mode of exam. The last date of submission of examination forms is September 8, 2020.
The date-sheet for the second phase of DU OBE will be issued in the first week of Septemeber.
Offline DU exam
Students with physical disabilities who have opted for offline mode of exam will be given five hours to complete. For online OBE, such students will get one additional hour to submit answer scripts.
To ensure the safety of students on campus, the university will adhere to strict standard operating procedure during the examination. All students will be required to wear face masks and carry hand sanitiser to the designated exam centre.
The students will have to arrange all the necessary stationery required for writing the exam. To avoid physical contact, the question papers will be sent on WhatsApp or email during examinations instead of a printed paper. However, students can ask for a physical question paper prior to the exam.
