Education in Ireland: Delhi students turn out in large numbers to attend Ireland Education fair

Students and parents interacted with delegation from top Irish institutions, the Ambassador of Ireland to discuss admission procedures, career advancements.

NEW DELHI: Education in Ireland, the initiative by the Irish government, was successfully concluded its first post-pandemic in-person Education Fair in New Delhi. Sixteen higher education institutions from Ireland had discussions with approximately 350 students and parents in Delhi.

The relaunch of the education fair provided insights to students regarding programmes available, intakes, offerings, campus life, accommodation, international student support, scholarships, and culture. “Dialogues on visa processing formed an integral part of this fair, helping students understand the road map to apply to study in Ireland for the academic year 2023-2024,” the official statement read.

Engineering, Computing, Business, Nursing, and Social Sciences are popular courses which Indian students pursue in Ireland. More recently there has been an increased interest in courses that focus on emerging technologies such as AI, Agri-Tech, Data Analytics, Fin-Tech and Cyber Security.

Ireland also has been very popular among Indian students for its two-year stay-back option advantage. The officials noted that “the country is known for their friendliness and kindness, which makes it simple for international students to adapt to Irish culture and, in particular, student life. With its multicultural society, high education Standards, safe and welcoming environment.”

In the last academic cycle over 5,000 Indian students chose Ireland as their study-abroad destination. With reference to the fairs, Barry O'Driscoll, Regional Manager, India and South Asia for Education in Ireland said, “We’re extremely delighted to be back with our first in-person fairs post-pandemic. The fairs provide a wonderful opportunity for students and parents to meet with and have their queries answered including the courses, career advancements, and offerings, answered directly by representatives from Ireland's leading higher education institutions. Our goal is to help students make informed decisions about their education journey and achieve great success in life and we believe we were able to address their objectives to a great extent.”

The education fair will be held in Pune on November 20; Mumbai on November 23. Ireland’s top higher education institutions will also organise fairs in Chennai and Bangalore on November 26 and November 27, 2022, respectively.
