Education minister reviews developments in accreditation, ranking systems of HEIs; seeks suggestions

Discussions relating to the need for adopting a transparent, accountable, objective, method-driven system through a technology platform were held.
NEW DELHI: The union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan in a meeting today has reviewed the developments made in the present accreditation and ranking systems of colleges and other higher education institutions. The developments in the accreditation and ranking systems include transformative reforms to strengthen higher education institutions (HEIs) across the country.
The meeting was attended by the minister of education for state Subhas Sarkar, Former ISRO chairman Dr Radhakrishnan K Koppillil, officials from the ministry of education, senior officials from UGC, AICTE and NETF.

Discussions relating to the need for adopting a transparent, accountable, objective, method-driven system of assessment, accreditation and ranking of HEIs through a technology platform were held.

The review meeting also focused on the ease of doing business and varied parameters for different category of institutions were deliberated upon in line with the vision of NEP 2020.
Saying that online suggestions from public domain has started, a social media post of the education ministry said: “The need for adopting a transparent, accountable, objective, method driven system of assessment, accreditation and ranking of HEIs through a technology platform was discussed.”
