FORE School of Management organises webinar on future of business schools

NEW DELHI: FORE School of Management, New Delhi has recently organised a webinar to address the disruption in business management and management education, arising from factors like Globalization, Geopolitics, Technology and the recent COVID-19 pandemic. The aim of this webinar was to discuss the future of Business Schools.

The key topics of the webinar were what will be the future of Business Schools, globalization, geopolitics, the potential for technology in management education and the drastic effects of COVID-19 pandemic. Other topics were the role of faculty, and the role of B-school directors, besides the academia-industry collaboration opportunities.

Experts invited to the webinar included B.S. Sahay, Founder Director IIM Jammu, Himadri Das, Director General International Management Institute, New Delhi, Bharat Bhasker, Director IIM Raipur, Shailendra Singh, Director IIM Ranchi, Harivansh Chaturvedi, Director BIMTECH PGDM International Business and Jitendra K Das, Director FORE School of Management.

In light of these developments, management education has been feeling the need to innovate in order to remain relevant.

“Delivering a relevant learning experience for students is the most important aspect of a Business school. This experience involves core curriculum and pedagogy, co-curricular activities and extra-curricular activities”, said Jitendra K Das.

In his view, the emphasis on memory and recollection needs to reduce; synthesising information is going to be a more relevant skill in the future and for this, all sources of knowledge have to be utilised.

“An ecosystem is required for international standards in research as well as industry-academic collaboration”, he added.

The discussion involving some of the best minds in management education emphasised on enhancing student experiences and faculty experiences, IT infrastructure and expenditure on research. These steps can be the key to overcome the challenges faced by management education in India.
