Check NowNEW DELHI: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee, will conduct the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE 2025) on February 1, 2, 15 and 16 at designated exam centres across 8 cities. The GATE cut-offs for computer science paper (GATE CSE) dropped last year and civil engineering cut-offs increased by 2 points, as per previous years’ qualifying marks.

The GATE 2025 exam will be conducted in two shifts. Morning session will be held from 9:30 am to 12:30 noon and afternoon session will be from 2:30 to 5:30 pm.
Candidates can check the GATE 2025 subject-wise cut-off to increase their chances of admissions in the IITs, NITs, IIITs. The exam is conducted in a computer-based test (CBT) to test a candidate's knowledge in various UG courses such as engineering, technology, architecture, science, commerce, arts, humanities.
What is GATE two-paper combination?
The engineering institute has also introduced two-paper combinations for candidates who have already registered for GATE 2025 . According to the guidelines, candidates who had taken only one paper previously, were allowed to add a second paper from the new combinations. On the other hand, candidates who had already taken two papers were allowed to change their second paper.
For instance, if a candidate opted for geology and geophysics in aerospace engineering in paper 1, they will be allowed to appear for geomatics engineering, architecture and planning, mining engineering, and engineering sciences in paper 2.
The GATE is the gateway exam for candidates to get into the top Indian Institute of Technology (IITs) in India. As per the official notification, candidates scoring above the minimum cut-off marks will be called further for the admission process.
Candidates studying in the final year of engineering, technology, architecture, science, commerce, arts, humanities UG courses will be eligible to sit for the GATE 2025 exam.

IIT Roorkee will be conducting the GATE exam for 30 papers. General category candidates can check the last three years’ qualifying marks for GATE to estimate the probable score needed to qualify the exam.
