GATE 2025 exam is scheduled to be held on February 1, 2, 15, and 16. Eligible candidates who have not applied yet can fill out the GATE application form 2025 through the official website, gate2025.iitr.ac.in.

As per the official notice, candidates registering for the GATE 2025 during the extended period from will need to pay Rs 1,400 per test paper for female, scheduled caste (SC), scheduled tribe (ST), and persons with disabilities (PwD) categories. The application fee is Rs 2,300 per test paper for all other candidates, including foreign nationals.
GATE exam 2025 will be conducted in the computer-based test (CBT) mode for a total of 30 test papers. The exam will take place in two shifts. The first shift will commence from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and the second shift will take place from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm. The institute informed that candidates will be permitted to appear for a maximum of two test papers from the available two-paper combinations. GATE admit card 2025 will be issued on January 2, 2025.

GATE 2025: Financial assistance
The institute informed that qualifying scores in the GATE can be used to seek financial assistance for various educational programmes. This includes master’s programmes and direct doctoral programmes in fields such as engineering, technology, architecture, science, commerce, arts, and humanities. The GATE score can also be used to seek financial assistance for doctoral programmes in relevant branches at institutions supported by the Ministry of Education (MoE) and other government agencies.
Financial assistance provided to Master of Technology (MTech) students is Rs 12,400 per month, disbursed for a duration of 22 months under the postgraduate scholarship. For candidates pursuing Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programmes after obtaining a Bachelor of Engineering (BE), Bachelor of Technology (BTech), or Master of Science (MSc) equivalent with a valid GATE score, the financial support is Rs 37,000 per month for the first two years. From the third to the fifth year, this amount increases to Rs 42,000 per month.
