GATE 2025 February 1 shift 1 ‘overall moderate’, questions asked from PYQ; analysis, reactions

NEW DELHI: The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2025 February 1 shift 1 exam was overall moderate, according to students’ reactions. Most of the students found the mathematics section moderate in difficulty level and aptitude section easy. GATE 2025 live updates.

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee is conducting the GATE 2025 day 1 exam today in two shifts. Session 1 was held from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. The GATE 2025 question paper comprised two sections, one on General Aptitude (GA) and another on the paper selected by the candidates.

According to GATE 2025 exam analysis, the CS paper contained 22 Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions, 30 Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs) and 13 Multiple-Select Questions (MSQs). Overall, the paper had a total of 65 questions.

A candidate said that while the exam was overall moderate, the computer science section was a bit difficult. He attempted a total of 62 questions and is expecting around 65-70 marks in the exam.

The GATE 2025 question paper was easy, based on concepts, said a student, who avoided questions which could lead to negative marking. He attempted 27 questions in the CS subject and seven in the general aptitude section.

Another candidate rated the GATE 2025 exam as moderate. Technical questions were asked in the question paper, more from mathematics. The CS section included questions from all topics including computer networks, digital logics. The Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions were typical. He attempted more than half of the questions.

According to another student, this year’s GATE question paper had only 10% of the GATE previous year question papers.

An aspirant who gave his second attempt this year found the GATE exam 2025 a bit difficult. While he’s aspiring for an MTech degree from an IIT, his alternative is to work in the private sector.
