GATE 2025 February 1 Live: Overall difficulty level 'moderate'; paper analysis, memory-based questions

The GATE 2025 exams are being held for a duration of 3 hours. The GATE 2025 exams are scheduled to be conducted in two sessions each day.

GATE 2025 February 1 shift 2 paper was easy to moderate in terms of overall difficulty level. Certain branches of the subject will be more conceptual while others will be calculation-heavy. General Aptitude is comparatively easy which will benefit the candidate in improving their overall score.

IIT Roorkee has announced the GATE 2025 result date. The GATE 2025 result will be announced on March 19. 

The GATE qualifying marks for CSE was 27.6 last year. This year, it is expected to be around 28, as per past trends.

A good score in GATE 2025 depends on the exam difficulty, cut-off trends, and the institute or PSU. Generally, a 80+ GATE score is considered good for IIT MTech admissions and top PSU recruitment.

The GATE 2025 Feb 1 shift 2 analysis is not yet available, as the exam ends at 5:30 pm. However, as per GATE 2025 shift 1 analysis, aptitude section is expected to be easy. 

No, there is no partial marking for any question in GATE 2025. As per the GATE 2025 marking scheme, there will not be any negative marking for wrong answers to MSQ and NAT questions.

IIT Roorkee introduced a new GATE two-paper combination list for registered candidates. The GATE 2025 two-paper concept allowed candidates to select two subjects instead of one. Candidates had to choose two subjects from the list of combinations approved by the GATE authorities.

The GATE 2025 question paper will have three types of questions- Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ), Multiple Select Questions (MSQ), and Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions. There will be no negative marking for wrong answer in MSQ and NAT. However, for 1-mark MCQ, 1/3 mark will be deducted for wrong answer. In case of 2-mark MCQ, 2/3 mark will be deducted for each incorrect response.

The GATE 2025 CS paper on Feb 1 consisted of a total of 65 questions, including 22 numerical answer type (NAT), 30 multiple-choice questions (MCQ), and 13 multiple select questions (MSQ).

Candidates are required to carry their GATE admit card 2025 along with a valid photo ID such as passport, PAN card, voter ID, Aadhaar card, driving license for GATE 2025 Feb 1 shift 2 exam.

As per GATE 2025 Feb 1 analysis, Aptitude section was relatively easy in shift 1.

The GATE 2025 Feb 1 shift 1 exam ends. The GATE 2025 Day 1 morning shift was held from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. 

The GATE 2025 Feb 1 shift 1 will end in 10 minutes. Various coaching centres will publish the GATE 2025 question paper based on memory-based questions collected from candidates. 

The GATE 2025 exam on February 1 is being conducted for CS1, MA, and AG in the first shift. The GATE 2025 Feb 1 second shift will be conducted for CS2, NM, MT, TF, and IN papers.

GATE 2025 mechanical engineering paper will be conducted on February 2, 2025. GATE syllabus 2025 is available on the official website, gate2025.iitr.ac.in. As per GATE 2025 ME syllabus, the paper comprises four sections as follows: 

• Section 1: Engineering Mathematics 
• Section 2: Applied Mechanics and Design
• Section 3: Fluid Mechanics and Thermal Sciences
• Section 4: Materials, Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering

GATE answer key 2025 will be issued once the exam ends. Candidates will be able to calculate their probable scores in GATE exam 2025 using the provisional GATE 2025 answer key. As per the GATE 2025 marking scheme, candidates will be awarded one or two marks for each correct answer. There will be negative marking in MCQ questions. 

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Hyderabad offers admission to Master of Technology (MTech) programmes through the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2025. The GATE closing rank for computer science at IIT H was 753 for the general category.

The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2025 scores will be used in the recruitment of engineers for executive positions in various Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs). More than 50 PSUs, including Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL), Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) will conduct recruitment drives using GATE 2025 results.

Among the GATE 2025 aspirants are third-year students, employed, and postgraduate students. Sharing their GATE 2025 exam strategy with Careers360, students said that they will attempt easy questions first and be calm during the exam. A candidate appearing for GATE 2025 mathematics paper said that the maximum cut-off in the branch goes up to 35, thus, he will try to achieve 35 marks.

About her strategy for exam, she said that she will attempt only those questions she knows the answers to and would leave the rest. According to GATE 2025 marking scheme, candidates will be awarded one or two marks for each question. For a wrong answer chosen in an MCQ, there will be negative marking as follows:

• For a 1-mark MCQ, 1/3 mark will be deducted for a wrong answer.
• For a 2-mark MCQ, 2/3 mark will be deducted for a wrong answer.

There is no negative marking for wrong answer(s) to MSQ or NAT questions. There is no partial marking in MSQ.

The GATE 2025 exam will comprise of two sections. One section will be on General Aptitude (GA) and other on the subject selected by the candidate. 

The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering will be conducted for a duration of three hours.
