Haryana declares holiday for schools on Nov 9, 12 in these districts due to panchayat election

Education institutions located in the areas of Panchayati Raj institutions will observe a public holiday, so that the employees will also be able to vote.
NEW DELHI: The Haryana government has declared holiday for government and private schools in districts going for the second phase election for panches and sarpanches in the state.
The second phase voting for zilla parishad and panchayat samiti members will be held on November 9, while polling for sarpanches and panches will be held on November 12 in Ambala, Charkhi Dadri, Gurugram, Karnal, Kurukshetra, Rewari, Rohtak, Sirsa and Sonipat districts.
Education institutions located in the areas of Panchayati Raj institutions will observe a public holiday, so that the employees working in these institutions will also be able to vote, the state government said.

“State government offices, boards, corporations and educational institutions as well as factories, commercial establishments, shops, etc. located in the areas of Panchayati Raj institutions will also observe a public holiday, so that the employees working in these institutions will also be able to vote,” the official tweet read. The government declared public holiday under Section 173A of Haryana Panchayati Raj Act 1994.
The state government had declared holiday for all schools in the state on November 5 due to the Haryana Common Eligibility Test (CET) 2022.
