Haryana CM Nayab Saini said public expectations from governance have shifted towards accountability and measurable outcomes.
Haryana chief minister Nayab Singh Saini has launched the National Education Evaluation and Validation (NEEV) portal, aimed at monitoring the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP 2020) through real-time data and performance indicators.
Speaking at a programme, the chief minister said the portal would allow "realistic, impartial, and continuous evaluation” of how universities are aligning with the provisions of NEP , and identify gaps requiring corrective action.
“This portal continuously monitors the education system through real-time data, performance indicators, and predictive analysis. It clearly reveals which institutions are progressing in accordance with the policy and where improvements are needed,” the minister said.
The NEEV portal will be implemented in a phased manner, starting with universities. It will later be extended to colleges, schools, and other educational institutions to ensure uniformity and readiness in NEP implementation across the education system .
During the event, the chief minister said public expectations from governance have shifted towards accountability and measurable outcomes, and that education reforms must reflect this transition to performance-based governance.
Referring to higher education reforms, Saini said the state budget has earmarked Rs 20 crore for research for the first time. He urged universities to focus on problem-driven research addressing issues like waterlogging, environmental sustainability, and urban infrastructure, so that academic work contributes directly to governance and policy planning, the ANI report said.
The state also signed an agreement under the Gyan Setu initiative, stating that it intends to align academic research and institutional expertise with administrative and societal needs.
