MA New Media course will be offered at IIMC New Delhi, Jammu, Aizwal, and Kottayam. Students will learn to design and implement effective content strategies for YouTube, Instagram, and OTT services.
Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) has introduced MA in New Media Communications with emphasis on artificial intelligence (AI), animation, and visual effects. The new course has been launched in four of its campuses located in New Delhi, Jammu, Aizawl, and Kottayam.
The MA New Media Communications course will provide a blend of media research, production, and management, which will prepare students to be adaptive communicators and effective managers in the tech-driven world, the official statement read.
The two-year course aims to equip students with skills in AI, podcasts, fact-checking, cybersecurity, digital marketing and more. Students will also gain practical skills in media design — learning to craft engaging, user-centric digital content while exploring both artistic creativity and the technical tools required for building interactive media, the institute said.
A total of 120 students will be selected for this two-year course. By the end of the course, students will be able to design and implement effective content strategies for several media platforms including YouTube, Instagram, and OTT services. They will also learn to evaluate the role of technology, such as AI, VFX, and mobile-first content to enhance consumer engagement and experience, the official website read.
