IIT Bombay placement drive 2024 starts; 350 companies participating in phase 1
The IIT Bombay placement drive 2024 phase 1 will be held till December 15. More than 200 students have got pre-placement offers.

NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT Bombay) today started the phase 1 of placement season on December 1, 2023. The IIT Bombay said more than 350 companies will participate in the placement season that will continue till December 15, 2023.
The IIT Bombay added the placement drive has started on a positive note with over 200 pre-placement offers accepted. Three PSUs HPCL, C-DOT and ONGC have recruited students before day one.
The first day of placements at Indian Institute of Technology Bombay had around 40 companies interviewing in two slots. On Day 1, compared to last year, 80% of the regular recruiters participated. The companies that participated today for domestic profiles include Google India, Apple and Microsoft India. The companies include Procter and Gamble, Sony Japan, Texas Instruments, Qualcomm and Tata Group.
In the placement season 2022-23, 1,516 students of IIT Bombay has secured jobs, the highest number to date. The highest salary package during the IIT Bombay placement drive 2022-23 was Rs 3.67 crore per annum. The highest domestic salary package offered in the last year’s placement drive was Rs.1.68 crore per annum.

The IIT Bombay had also said that 16 students had received offers of above Rs 1 crore per annum while 65 students accepted offers from international companies. A total of 300 pre-placement offers were made, of which 194 were accepted by students. The average salary package offered in the previous season’s placement drive was Rs 21.82 lakhs per annum (CTC).
