IIT Kanpur launches eMasters degree programme in data science, business analytics

IIT-K eMasters programme in data science, business analytics is open for professionals and does not require a GATE score. Apply by December 4.
NEW DELHI: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur has launched an eMasters degree programme in data science and business analytics. Interested candidates can apply for the January 2023 batch till December 4, 2022.
The eMasters programme is offering professionals with the flexibility to complete the course between 1-3 years. Experts from IIT-K's departments including economics, industrial and management engineering, mathematics and computer science and engineering will be teaching a 60-credit and 12-module industry focused curriculum.

The programme aims to provide the students with in-depth conceptual understanding of mining and analytical techniques for predictive and descriptive analysis of data. The course allows professionals to apply with out a Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) score and help them in building knowledge on data-science tools required for business analytics.
The programme will be taught through weekend-only live interactive sessions along with self-paced learning. The applicants will have an access to IIT Kanpur's placement cell, incubation centre and the alumni network. As a part of the course, the candidates will also have an opportunity to visit the IIT-K campus and interact with their faculty and peer group.
The professionals will receive a senate-approved degree through a convocation after completion of the course. Candidates can also avail a credit transfer facility where a waiver of up to 60 credits can be transferred for higher education in master of engineering (MTech) and doctor of philosophy (PhD) at IIT Kanpur.
