IIT Mandi Placements: 137 students placed till December 1; Average salary rise by 13%

The Institute has seen a rise in the average salary by 13%, median salary by 16%, and maximum salary by 9%, as compared to the previous year.
NEW DELHI: IIT Mandi’s placement process witnessed participation from 102 companies. A total of 166 offers from various recruiters were made and 137 students were placed till today, December 1. Phase 1 of IIT Mandi placements started from mid-October till mid-December 2021 in which 102 companies have participated so far. The institute has also received seven international offers this time.
IIT Mandi has seen a rise in the average salary by 13%, median salary by 16%, and maximum salary by 9%, as compared to the previous year.
51 students from IIT Mandi had received pre-placement offers even before the actual placement drive took place.
IIT Mandi placement: Top recruiters
The top recruiting companies that offered opportunities to IIT Mandi students included companies like Google, Microsoft, Samsung, Adobe, Walmart, Paytm, Amazon, Indeed, Nvidia, Qualcomm, Deloitte, TCS, Reliance Jio among others. These job offers were in profiles such as product engineer, research and development, software engineer, business analyst, consulting, data science, and several other sectors.
“IIT Mandi observed a rise in the average salary by 13%,” said the press release.
Students were aware of virtual hiring scenarios from last year’s experience. The Career and Placement (CnP) Cell announced the layout of the drives beforehand which helped the students in preparing for the virtual mock interviews, the official statement said. As part of IIT Mandi placement drive preparation, career guidance sessions were also organised by the CnP Cell.

”In this drive, the institute has noticed a significant growth in terms of the number of offers and an increase in participation from the diversified companies. We may see the hybrid modus operandi of the recruitment process in the future.” said Tushar Jain, advisor, career & placement cell, IIT Mandi.
