IIT Patna students excel at international programming contest held in Kazakhstan
A team of three students from IIT Patna showcased programming skills at the 48th ICPC World Finals held from September 15 to 20.

NEW DELHI: A team comprising three students of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Patna showcased remarkable programming skills at the 48th International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) World Finals. The team named MEX Offenders consisting of Aryaman Amitabh, Harshit Singh, and Mayank Kumar participated on a global stage alongside 142 teams from around the world at the event held in Kazakhstan’s Astana from September 15 to 20, 2024.
ICPC is the world's oldest, largest, and most popular competitive programming contest for college students. A total of 73,083 participants from 3,524 universities across 103 countries participated in the competition.
After a rigorous selection process, 11 teams from India were shortlisted to compete with teams from institutions such as Harvard University, Stanford University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Oxford University, and Cambridge University.

“Participation in the ICPC World Finals is highly valued within the IT community, offering finalists outstanding opportunities to connect with leaders from top global technology companies,” said the institute.

On this occasion, several faculty members from the IIT, including department heads and deans, expressed their pride in the students' achievements. IIT Patna director T N Singh stated, “This is a proud moment for all of us.” He added that the students' hard work and brilliance have inspired the entire IIT Patna community to continue pushing the boundaries of innovation and excellence.
