IIT Roorkee to organise annual tech fest 'Cognizance' from March 24 to 26

IIT Roorkee will be conducting the 20th edition of its tech fest, Cognizance from March 24 to 26. The theme for this year is 'cosmos renascence.'
NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IITR) will be conducting its 20th annual tech fest- Cognizance'23 from March 24 to 26, 2023. The theme for this year's fest is 'cosmos renascence.'
The three-day event is set up by the students and will provide a platform for tech innovations in the general championship. The participants will witness multiple events like 'flight fury' and 'armageddon' will be held. The fest will also hold workshops with tech giants such as IBM and Intel. In 2022, students from over 3,000 colleges participated in the technical fest.

Under the event, the institute has also organised various social initiatives such as BRAVE- building resilience and voicing emotions; SAVE- sustaining and valuing environment; FIFA- food initiative for all; GOONJ- extracurricular activities for specially-abled students and a drive to spread awareness of menstrual hygiene using sanitary pads.
Talking about the fest, IIT Roorkee, director, K K Pant, said: "Cognizance is designed to help young and curious minds hone their skill and advance their career. This fest will serve as a center stage for students, led by expert instructors focusing on specific areas of professional development, from project management and communication skills to design and programming."

While speaking about the student-led event, IIT Roorkee, B-Tech student from chemical engineering and overall coordinator of Cognizance 2023, Anekant Jain, said: "Cognizance is dedicated to bringing about positive change via innovation and teamwork. For this reason, we have started several projects improving our local neighbourhoods and other areas. The work done by this noble initiative has received recognition from esteemed organisations like UNESCO, Make in India, CEE, and SAYEN."
