In a first, IIM Kozhikode inducts 12 international students for 3 PGP programmes

IIM Kozhikode: 45% females, 58% non-engineering students formed the largest batch of PGP, PGP-LSM, PGP Finance, and doctoral in management programmes.
NEW DELHI : The Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode inaugurated the largest batch of its flagship Post Graduate Programme (PGP), PGP-Liberal Studies and Management (PGP-LSM), PGP-Finance (PGP-F) and Doctoral Programme in Management (DPM) programmes with 601 students including 45 percent women, 58% non-engineering students, and 12 international candidates.
483 PGP students, 52 PGP-LSM, 49 PGP-F, and 17 DPM students have joined IIM Kozhikode. Among the programmes, PGP-LSM has the highest gender diversity with 52% female students, followed by 48% women in the flagship PGP programme and 47% females in the PhD programme. In a first, 12 international students (including 5 NRIs) from countries including Nepal, USA, UK, UAE, Oman and Germany have enrolled in the flagship PGP programme.

The non-engineering students come from backgrounds like sciences, humanities, arts, commerce, medical (MBBS) and Chartered Accountants. 67% of the newly admitted students come with work experience while 45 students are from Kerala.
Vivek Mandhata, managing director and partner, Boston Consulting Group, who is also an alumni and gold medalist, was the chief guest for the inauguration ceremony. IIMK director professor Debashis Chatterjee presided over the event.
IIM Kozhikode conducted a four-day immersion programme and eight-day orientation programme for the new students.
While Madhata encouraged students to take challenges, IIM Kozhikode director spoke about the importance of Ekagrata (focus), Karmayoga (deep work) and the importance of learning from one’s surroundings, as the main aspects of their MBA journey.
