JEE Advanced 2024 a month away; preparation mistakes to avoid

NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Technology Madras will conduct the Joint Entrance Exam Advanced (JEE Advanced) 2024 on May 26. The JEE Advanced 2024 registration process will begin on April 27, 2024. Candidates can fill the application form by visiting the official website, jeeadv.ac.in. With 40 days left until JEE advanced 2024, candidates are required to ace their preparation with tricks and be aware of the common mistakes that they should avoid to score well.

JEE Advanced consists of two papers, both are compulsory and carry equal weightage. The JEE advanced 2024 exam comprises a mix of multiple-choice questions (MCQs), numerical answer type (NAT) questions, and matching type questions. The papers consist of three subjects - physics, chemistry, and mathematics. The duration of each paper is 3 hours.

Candidates can avoid common mistakes by seeking expert advice, attending topper interviews, and consulting senior faculty members. Candidates are advised to stick to the fundamentals and maintain a consistent pace. Mistakes to avoid while preparing for JEE Advanced 2024

Procrastination: Prevent postponement of tasks by establishing a practical study timetable and adhering to it consistently. For instance, if you've set a goal to finish a specific topic on a designated day, strive to complete the task promptly. Avoid setting overly ambitious goals or plans, as they can result in further delays and heightened stress. Instead, divide the syllabus into manageable segments and assign specific time slots for each topic.

Ignoring basics: When students focus only on solving difficult problems, they might forget to learn the basics. But understanding the basics well is important for solving tricky problems. To avoid this mistake, spend enough time studying the basic concepts in physics, chemistry, and mathematics.

Relying exclusively on coaching institutions: While coaching institutions can give helpful guidance and resources, relying solely on them for preparation is a common mistake. Every student has unique abilities, shortcomings, and learning styles that may not be appropriately addressed in a classroom. Supplement the coaching institute's curriculum with self-study, reference books, internet-based resources, and mock exams to tailor your preparation and address specific needs.
