Try NowNEW DELHI: Joint Entrance Exam (JEE Main 2024) April 5 shift 1 exam was held today from 9 am to 12 noon. Students found the question paper “moderately” difficult. They said April 5 shift 1 JEE Main exam was easier than the session 1 papers in January.

However, experts said today’s paper was more difficult than April 4 session 2 shift 1 and 2 papers. Students found maths questions relatively harder than physics and chemistry. The maths section was also lengthy and the number of theory-based questions in all the three subjects were less, the students said.
Physics section questions were mostly formula-based. The chemistry section had a few NCERT-based questions and was relatively tougher than the physics section, students said.
Students had to attempt 90 questions for a total of 300 marks in three hours. Each section – physics, chemistry and mathematics – had 20 multiple-choice questions (MCQ) and 10 numerical questions. Students had to attempt five numerical questions in each section.
