JEE Main Preparation Tips 2025: Section-wise tips to crack exam
Below are JEE Main 2025 preparation tips and strategies for physics, chemistry, and mathematics.
JEE Main Preparation 2025: Strategies for physics
Physics often challenges students with its mix of conceptual understanding and numerical problem-solving questions. As per experts, preparing effectively for this section requires a clear grasp of fundamental principles and their applications. Here are some strategies shared by P Sindhura, director, Narayana Educational Institutions, to approach the JEE Mains 2025 physics section:
-
Focus on conceptual understanding: Focus on building a strong foundation in key topics such as mechanics, electrodynamics, optics, and modern physics. Use NCERT textbooks and other reliable resources to understand principles and their applications.
-
Practice consistently: Dedicate time to solving a variety of problems from previous year’s question papers and mock tests. This will improve both speed and accuracy while helping identify weaker areas.
-
Focus on high-weightage topics: Prioritise topics like electromagnetism, mechanics, thermodynamics, waves, and oscillations, as they have historically carried more weight in the exam.
-
Problem-solving skills: Employ methods such as dimensional analysis, approximation, and elimination to tackle complex problems effectively. Break problems into simpler parts for easier resolution.
-
Time management: Avoid spending too much time on challenging questions. Address easier and moderate-level questions first to secure marks quickly and revisit tougher problems if time permits.
JEE Main 2025 Preparation Tips: Chemistry section
Chemistry balances conceptual understanding with factual memorisation. It is often considered scoring if approached strategically. Divided into Physical, Organic, and Inorganic Chemistry, this section requires targeted preparation. Below are some effective strategies for JEE Main 2025 chemistry subject shared by Sindhura:
- Follow NCERT Textbooks: NCERT books form the foundation of JEE Main Chemistry. Most questions are closely tied to the content, so focus on understanding concepts, reactions, and mechanisms.
- Important reactions and formulas: For Organic Chemistry, grasp the step-by-step progression of reactions. In Physical Chemistry, concentrate on formulas related to thermodynamics, chemical kinetics, and electrochemistry.
- Solve previous year JEE question papers: Solving past papers helps recognise question patterns and highlights important topics like Coordination Compounds, Mole Concept, and Chemical Bonding.
- Focus on high- scoring areas: Allocate study time to significant chapters such as electrochemistry, thermodynamics, and chemical bonding in Physical Chemistry, and General Organic Chemistry (GOC) and biomolecules in Organic Chemistry.
- Regular mock tests and revisions: Regular mock tests and consistent revision are essential. They help in retaining information and keeping concepts fresh.
JEE Main 2025 Preparation: Strategies for mathematics subject
Mathematics is a high-scoring section for many candidates but demands consistent practice and a strong command over formulas and concepts. Students can enhance their performance in JEE Mains 2025 mathematics by implementing the strategies recommended by P Sindhura.
- Understand concepts: Build a strong conceptual understanding of topics instead of relying on rote learning.
- Practice more: Mathematics demands rigorous practice. Solve problems from various sources, including past papers and mock tests, to improve speed and accuracy.
- Simpler questions first: During practice and the exam, prioritise simpler questions first to secure marks quickly.
- Focus on high-weightage topics: Give special attention to Calculus, Algebra, Coordinate Geometry, and Trigonometry, as these are frequently tested.
- Revise formulas regularly: Maintain a formula book and review it regularly to ensure quick recall during the exam.
