JNVST 2025 Class 6 registration deadline today; exam on January 18

NEW DELHI: The Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) will end the registration process for the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST) 2025 today, September 23. Eligible students can fill out the JNV form for Class 6 admission for the 2025-26 academic session by visiting the official website, cbseitms.rcil.gov.in.

To register for the JNV 2025 admission test, students will have to enter their registration number and date of birth. Students who don’t have their registration number can get it through the official website by providing their name, father’s name, mother’s name, and date of birth.

According to the Navodaya Vidyalaya Scheme, one Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya is to be established in each district in a phased manner. Currently, 653 Vidyalayas are operational across 27 states and 8 Union Territories. As per the official prospectus, a maximum of eighty students are admitted to Class VI in each Vidyalaya through a selection test, subject to the availability of suitable candidates.

JNVST 2025 Class 6 Admission: Exam date

The JNV Selection Test for admission to Class 6 in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas for the academic session 2025-26 will be conducted in two phases, as outlined below:

  • The first phase will take place on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at 11:30 am in the states of Jammu and Kashmir (excluding Jammu-I, Jammu-II, and Samba), Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and in the districts of Dibang Valley and Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh. It will also be held in the districts of Chamba, Kinnaur, Mandi, Sirmour, Kullu, Lahaul and Spiti, and Shimla in Himachal Pradesh, as well as in the district of Darjeeling in West Bengal and the Leh and Kargil districts of the Union Territory of Ladakh.

  • The second phase will occur on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at 11:30 am in the states of Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh (excluding Dibang Valley and Tawang districts), Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, and Himachal Pradesh (excluding Chamba, Kinnaur, Mandi, Sirmour, Kullu, Lahaul and Spiti, and Shimla districts). It will also be held in Jammu and Kashmir (only for Jammu-I, Jammu-II, and Samba), as well as in Jharkhand, Kerala, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Odisha, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tripura, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and West Bengal (excluding Darjeeling), along with the Union Territories of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Chandigarh, Dadar and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu, Delhi, Lakshadweep, and Puducherry.

JNVST Admission 2025: Exam pattern

The JNVST selection test will last for two hours and will have three sections featuring only objective-type questions. Candidates can find the section numbers, corresponding marks, and sectional durations in the table below.
