NEW DELHI : The cancellation of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) exams for Class 12 has led to the changes in the admission process to various professional courses. According to a report by The Hindu , the government is mulling a proposal to discard the 50% weightage given to Class 12 marks in the KEAM entrance examination
As per the latest KEAM 2021 notification, the engineering rank will be prepared by giving equal weightage of 50:50 to the score obtained in the entrance examination conducted by CEE for engineering and the total marks obtained in the final year of the qualifying examination in mathematics, physics and chemistry, after effecting the standardization procedure. However, in the wake of cancellation of board exams, CEE Kerala may scrap Class 12 marks weightage.
“Official sources pointed out that results declared through a process of normalisation of marks or lenient evaluation might not become an accurate indicator of the students’ intellectual capacity. Besides, the chances of delay in declaring the results could stall the entrance examination process,” reports added.
Kerala had earlier decided to conduct plus two examinations. The government has also increased the process of evaluation of answer scripts on a priority basis.
Commissioner of Entrance Examination (CEE), Kerala has released the KEAM 2021 application form in online mode. Candidates who wish to apply for KEAM 2021 exam can apply at kerala.gov.in till June 2021. KEAM 2021 exam date is July 24.
Kerala Engineering, Architecture and Medical Entrance Exam, commonly known as KEAM, is conducted for admissions to BTech, BArch, Pharmacy and Medical related courses. Candidates have to duly fill the KEAM application form while fulfilling the eligibility criteria. KEAM qualified candidates will be eligible to participate in the counselling process.
