Maharashtra Board Exam 2021: Students demand cancellation of HSC exams

Students took to social media platforms like Twitter, demanding to cancel Maharashtra board Class 12 exams 2021 as the COVID-19 situation has not improved.

Download NowNEW DELHI: Maharashtra Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad has announced to postpone the Maharashtra HSC exam due to a surge in COVID-19 cases. It is expected that the Maharashtra HSC exam dates will fall in the last week of May. However, students took to Twitter, requesting to cancel Maharashtra Board exams 2021.
Hashtags like, #DONTIGNORE12THSTUDENTS, #cancel12thboardexams2021, #AlternativeAssessment, etc are trending on the Twitter. Students are tagging minister Varsha Gaikwad, prime minister Narendra Modi, CMO Maharashtra and high-level officials in their tweets requesting to cancel Maharashtra HSC exams .
A Twitter user, Dineshkumar Gupta, tweeted that more than 1 million students requested to take decisions as per the current situation for Class 12 students as soon as possible.

Students are also sharing funny memes demanding the cancellation of HSC exams as the state is recording the highest number of COVID-19 cases. However, Maharashtra board SSC exams are already cancelled due to the situation in the state.

In view of increasing cases of coronavirus, conducting Higher Secondary Certificate exams is not safe, students said on Twitter. Some students also said that conducting exams in the present situation can be of risk to the bright future of Maharashtra.
