Miranda House celebrates Founder's Day, felicitates seven generations of women
The college felicitated its alumnae thereby recognising their outstanding work in the fields of academia, social work, sports, and creative arts.

NEW DELHI: Miranda House, University of Delhi celebrated its Founder's Day and began its platinum year on March 24, 2023. The college felicitated seven generations of women thereby recognising its outstanding alumnae in the fields of academia, social work, sports, and creative arts. The event was attended by students, faculty members and dignitaries.
The alumnae who were felicitated on this occasion include Meena Khanna (batch of 1955 - the first Indian Woman Cricketer), Kavita Khare (batch of 1980 - educationist and writer), Enakshi Ganguly (batch of 1982 - child rights activist and author), Sharmila Bhagat (batch of 1985 - Social worker), Meenakshi Sahay (batch of 1994 - Joint Registrar of Delhi University).

Professor Rajni Abbi was the chief guest of the day who shared her experiences of being a student at Miranda House. The Guest of Honor, Dr Uma Kapila, Miranda House alumnae and former faculty in the Department of Economics spoke about the spirit of resilience that she learnt from the college. Aditi Anand, noted film producer and alumni of the institute narrated about the democratic and enabling space of the college which instilled in her the confidence of being her own person.
Stepping into the 75th year, the college announced the creation of memorabilia which includes a specially designed college mug, a wristwatch produced in collaboration with Titan, postage stamp and a commemorative volume containing the voices of the alumnae, teachers and students of the college.

The event also witnessed an award distribution ceremony for the students of the batch of 2021-2022 as well as performances by students, teachers and non-teaching staff.
