NCERT launches online diploma course for Classes 6 to 8 science teachers; apply by December 28

The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has announced an online diploma course in "teaching of science at middle stage" for classes 6 to 8 science teachers. The council will close the registration facility for the online diploma on December 28, 2025.
Eligible candidates can apply for the 40-week online diploma course through the official website at ncertx.in. The programme is designed to strengthen science education at the middle-school level.
Applicants are required to pay Rs 2,000 as registration charges for the online diploma course. The classes will begin be conducted online from December 29 to October 18, 2026. The classes will be held for 6 to 8 hours per week.
The objective of the online diploma programme is to cultivate objectivity, critical thinking, acquisition of skills, and understanding of methods and processes, nurturing natural curiosity, aesthetic sense, creativity among students.
The course has been developed by the Department of Education in Science and Mathematics (DESM) at NCERT, New Delhi. It is designed for teachers teaching science in classes 6 to 8.
