NCTE to conduct ITEP registration process for HEIs from April 22 to May 21

NCTE will conduct the registration for Integrated Teacher Education Programme on the official website, ncte.gov.in/ITEP.
NEW DELHI: The National Council of Technical Education (NCTE) will start accepting applications from higher educational institutions (HEIs) for the fourth phase of Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) academic session 2025-26 on the official website, ncte.gov.in/ITEP, from April 22 to May 21. As per the NCTE norms, the institutions offer the ITEP on the basis of the National Education Policy (NEP 2020).
NCTE will shortlist the HEIs on the basis of the National Council for Teacher Education (Recognition, Norms and Procedure) Amendment Regulations, 2021. HEIs will be awarded points on the basis of National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) grades, National Institute of Ranking Framework (NIRF), experience and period which the institution is running.
Institutions of eminence and national importance will be awarded eight points. HEIs which will have NAAC A++ category will get eight points while those with A+, A, B++, B+ and B category will be awarded 7, 6, 6, 5 and 4 points, respectively. Institutions with below B grade will get only 3 points. As per NIRF 2023, HEIs, will receive these points:

Points on Experience and period
Multidisciplinary institutions running for more than 30 years will get four points. Those running for 25 to 20 years, 10 to 25 years and less than 10 years will get three, two and one point, respectively. The NCTE will also award two points to institution which have experience in running a recognised teacher education programme.
