As per the new dates, candidates can now apply for NEET PG exam 2022 till March 25, 2022 and the exam will be held on May 21.
Though the NEET PG 2022 exam was deferred, the issue regarding internship deadline remains.
Advocate Charu Mathur, for the petitioners, told Careers360, "Following Prime Minister Narendra Modi's assurance, doctors did 100 days of Covid-19 duty and selflessly submitted to call of nation but this disrupted their internship. Internship is for one year and as per info bulletin it is to be completed by May 31. This is practically not possible as they were in COVID duty. However, I'm sure that this issue will also get resolved."
The petition said, “Several hundred MBBS graduates, whose internship got halted due to their Covid-19 duty, would be rendered ineligible from appearing in the NEET PG exam due to lack of mandatory internship duty that too without their fault.”
It referred to the statement made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on May 3 last year to postpone NEET-PG 2021 by at least four months and the fact that the services of final year MBBS doctors will be utilised to handle mild Covid cases.

The NEET MDS 2022 aspirants in a letter to the Dental Council of India said, “Due to the Covid-19 situation, the current intern batch (2016) started internship very late, due to the delaying of their final year BDS university exams in most of the estates. Now they are ineligible to appear in NEET MDS as per the criteria mentioned by the NBE,” it added. The letter further said that the 2500 interns will not be able to appear for the exam.
