Try NowNEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has advised MBBS aspirants to complete the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) registrations before March 7. Candidates, who wish to write the single-largest medical entrance exam for MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, and other medical courses, will have to apply through the official website at neet.nta.nic.in.
“The registration process for NEET UG 2025 commenced on February 7, 2025, and will close on March 7, 2025, at 11:50 PM. Candidates are advised to complete the process at the earliest to avoid any last-minute difficulties. Candidates are requested to ensure timely submission of their application to avoid last minute rush,” the NTA advisory read.
The NEET UG 2025 exam will be conducted on May 4 in pen and paper mode. The agency will hold the entrance test to fill a total of 1,08,940 MBBS seats. The exam will be conducted for 3 hours from 2 pm to 5 pm.
The NEET UG exam 2025 underwent major changes after last year’s paper leak allegations and malpractices, which led to formation of a high level expert committee. The panel recommended changing the mode of the exam and holding exams in Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNVs). However, the NTA announced that it will conduct the exam in pen-paper mode.
Changes introduced by the NTA for NEET UG 2025 include number of exam centres, timing of the test hall, NEET UG tie-breaking method , and exam pattern.
Notably, the testing agency also announced that APAAR ID is not mandatory for the NEET UG 2025 registrations. On the other hand, the National Medical Commission (NMC) also clarified that the candidates, who have completed their Class 12 from the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS), are also eligible to apply for the NEET UG 2025 registrations.
