MCC removes PG seats from 2 colleges; clarifies on NRI seats for NEET UG, PG 2022 counselling

NEW DELHI: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has announced withdrawal of postgraduate seats from two medical colleges for NEET PG 2022 round 1 counselling. NEET PG 2022 counselling registration for 50% All India Quota (AIQ) round 1 will end tomorrow, September 23. Eligible candidates have to submit application on the MCC NEET PG counselling website, mcc.nic.in.

The MCC has received information from Gandhi Medical College, Bhopal and BJ Government Medical College, Ahmedabad to remove the seats from the seat matrix of Round-1 of PG Counselling 2022.
PG seats from Gandhi Medical College, Bhopal were removed as the institute has not got recognition from the National Medical Commission ( NMC ). On the other hand, seats from BJ Government Medical College, Ahmedabad were removed as the PG medical seats were added erroneously, the MCC official notice read.

The MCC has also informed the medical colleges that the Overseas Citizen of India (OCI), Person of Indian Origin (PIO), and foreign nationals will only be eligible for NRI seats and not for Indian (All India Quota/ Central/ Deemed Paid/ Indian) seats.
It also displayed a list of 729 candidates who have been converted provisionally from Indian to NRI for the purpose of NEET PG Counselling 2022-23 on the basis of scrutiny of documents sent by them to MCC. The candidates were also advised to produce the same original documents at the time of reporting in case NRI seat is allotted to them, failing which their admission is liable to cancel.
