NEW DELHI: The National Medical Commission has extended the deadline for medical colleges to apply for renewal of permission till March 17, 2023 for the academic year 2023-24. Colleges will have to submit a sworn affidavit.
The Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB) received various requests from medical colleges for time to apply for renewal of permission who couldn’t apply due to early closure of the National Medical Commission (NMC) portal so that they can participate in this year’s counselling.
The medical board considered the requests of medical colleges and decided to give colleges a chance to apply for renewal of permission “so that they can participate in the counselling process of academic year 2023-24.”
“It is therefore, all the government and private medical colleges, who couldn’t apply for renewal of permission are hereby requested to apply and send sworn affidavit along with requisite application fees up to March 17, 2023,” said JL Meena, member, MARB in a public notice.
MARB said that such colleges who have been denied any permission to legal issues, cancellation of batch or stoppage of admissions may not be considered for renewal of permission. “However, random surprise inspections may be carried out on the basis of track record of the medical college,” MARB further said.
The medical colleges will have to submit details in four parts - Part A, B, C, and D. In the first part, colleges will have to submit information on number of batches, course, permission etc. whereas in the second part, they will have to share information on the facilities available. In part C and D, colleges will have to fill details on faculty.
