NEW DELHI : A survey conducted by Lady Shri Ram College reveals that more than 68 per cent of students will not be able to appear in the online exams, as DU mulls to hold examinations in the open book mode.
58 per cent of the students who have submitted their response said they don’t have an internet connection with them.
46.4 per cent of students who have a broadband connection were not in favour of taking online exams.
More than 71 per cent of students said they can not concentrate on their studies. 75.4 per cent of students who have participated in the survey said they are bearing mental stress due to the lockdown and the pandemic.
The university has earlier announced that it is planning to conduct open book exams and released the guidelines for the exams.
Due to the ongoing nationwide lockdown, the university has shifted to online teaching. More than 58 per cent of the students said they are rarely able to attend online classes.
The students and DUTA have been opposing this decision with various student organizations staging online protests from their home asking universities to withdraw the decision. They are also demanding MHRD to intervene in the matter.
