Parliamentary panel on education discusses content, design of textbooks with Class 9 student: Report

Vice President of India, M Venkaiah Naidu informed the parliamentary house that the panel on education interacted with a student from Haryana.
NEW DELHI: Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu who is also the chairman of Rajya Sabha informed the house that the parliamentary panel on education, in a meeting, discussed the content and design of textbooks with a Class 9 student, the Times of India reported.

“The committee on education heard and interacted with a Class 9 student from Haryana while examining the issue of “Reforms in content and design of textbooks” during the winter-session period, '' said Naidu, as per the report.
"This is good evidence of reaching out to the stakeholders for effective feedback and for informed reporting on the subjects chosen for examination by these committees on a higher pedestal in aid of the Parliament,” TOI quoted Naidu as saying.
The Rajya Sabha Chairman also informed that the eight Department Related Parliamentary Standing Committees of Rajya Sabha held 21 meetings, as per the report.

“Ahead of the ensuing winter session of Parliament, the Vice President and Chairman, Rajya Sabha, Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu held a meeting with the leaders of various parties in the Rajya Sabha at the Vice President's residence and sought their cooperation in the smooth conduct of the proceedings of the House during the session, Vice President’s office said in a tweet.
