In the latest update, the counselling authorities informed that the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET UG) 2025 counselling has been kept on hold and the first round seat allotment will be declared only after the declaration of All India Quota (AIQ) result by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). The announcement came before the MCC NEET UG seat allotment result 2025 as the state was awaiting the central counselling results.

The provisional MBBS, BDS seat allotment was already published on August 6 for 85% state quota seats and aspirants were asked to raise objections, if any, by August 8.
Punjab MBBS fee 2025 was revised for private medical colleges while the Punjab and Haryana High Court allowed a university to charge management quota fee for 50% government quota seats. This came even after several doctors, aspirants, and healthcare advocates protested against the MBBS fee hike and a new two-year MBBS bond .
