Re-NEET 2026: No leave for medical students on June 20 and 21, NMC directs colleges

Try NowFollowing the directions of the Ministry of Education (MoE), the National Medical Commission (NMC) has advised medical colleges to restrict student leave on June 20 and 21, except in exceptional circumstances with justification. The step is being taken to prevent potential misuse and ensure the fair conduct of the re-NEET 2026 exam scheduled on June 21, after the allegations of paper leak.

NMC has directed medical colleges to remain vigilant and make sure that students are “sensitised” against involvement in activities related to unfair means for the re-exam.
The commission further noted that there were instances reported in previous years of NEET UG examinations where medical students were allegedly involved in malpractices affecting the sanctity of the NEET UG college entrance test.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts the national-level medical entrance exam, the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET 2026) , for admission to undergraduate medical courses such as MBBS and BDS, and other allied health courses like BAMS, BHMS, BUMS, and BSc Nursing.

Re-NEET 2026
NTA will conduct the re-NEET UG 2026 exam scheduled on June 21 from 2 pm to 5:15 pm for more than 22 lakh students across the country.
Students appearing for the re-NEET UG 2026 exam are required to download the admit card accessible on the official website, neet.nta.nic.in, using their application number or date of birth details.
Recently, NTA has launched a new online portal where students, parents, coaching centres, and the general public can flag suspicious claims or fraudulent activity linked to the re-NEET 2026 question paper. Any reports of alleged paper leaks or related malpractice can be submitted at innovateindia.mygov.in/neet-ug-2026/.
