Try NowFollowing the directions of the Ministry of Education (MoE), the National Medical Commission (NMC) has advised medical colleges to restrict student leave on June 20 and 21, except in exceptional circumstances with justification. The step is being taken to prevent potential misuse and ensure the fair conduct of the re-NEET 2026 exam scheduled on June 21, after the allegations of paper leak.
NMC has directed medical colleges to remain vigilant and make sure that students are “sensitised” against involvement in activities related to unfair means for the re-exam.
The commission further noted that there were instances reported in previous years of NEET UG examinations where medical students were allegedly involved in malpractices affecting the sanctity of the NEET UG college entrance test.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts the national-level medical entrance exam, the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET 2026) , for admission to undergraduate medical courses such as MBBS and BDS, and other allied health courses like BAMS, BHMS, BUMS, and BSc Nursing.
