Shiv Nadar School hosts EBC 2023 in association with Indian Youth Nuclear Society

Shiv Nadar School hosted the two-day long event to increase the general understanding of sustainable development goals, climate change challenges.
NEW DELHI: The Shiv Nadar School in Noida hosted the 3rd edition of its scientific awareness event titled 'Educational Boot Camp 2023' (EBC 2023) recently. Close to 2,000 students from Class 5 till the undergraduate level ensured their presence in the two-day long event. Students from Delhi-NCR schools, such as Bal Bharati Public school, Genesis Global School, Podar International school and others were in attendance at the event.
The event was held in association with the Indian Youth Nuclear Society (IYNS), which was aimed at addressing sustainable development goals (SDGs) and issues related to climate change. A statement from the institute said that as many as four SDGs were addressed in the event, which were namely: Gender equality, innovation, sustainable cities and climate action.
STEAM coordinator at the Shiv Nadar school, Vinita Sharat said: "The most significant aspect of the Boot camp was the start-up project presentations conducted by the students of various schools". She added that the projects addressed a wide range of environmental challenges, including Delhi pollution, clean drinking water, waste management, extreme weather events etc.

IYNS president Nitendra Singh said: "EBC 23 was a commendable and collaborative effort by Shiv Nadar school and IYNS to raise awareness about climate change and SDGs. This event was an Excel opportunity for students to learn and connect with industry experts, academia and connect with peers. The dedication and enthusiasm of students in tackling climate change issues were truly inspiring".
Director of education of Shiv Nadar School, Shashi Bannerjee said: "We believe in truly nurturing a scientific temperament, promoting empathy towards every living being and fostering a global mindset in all aspects of school life. The students worked for nearly a month, presented their start-up pitches on social, economic and environmental issues and devised local and simple solutions".
Other experts from various fields were also present in the event, which included deputy head of communications at ITER organisation Shira Tabachnikoff, journalist Anand Narasimhan, Greenscape CEO Jeevesh Kumar and others.
