NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court has dismissed the plea for the postponement of MHT CET 2020 exam. The plea challenging postpone of MHT CET 2020 was heard today by the top court. The Supreme Court, in its order said “ We have allowed conducting JEE Main and NEET, how can we now stop exams in one sate? You should have checked our orders”.
The Maharashtra Common Entrance Test, commonly known as CET is conducted for admission in various undergraduate and postgraduate professional courses. The exam had been postponed by the state higher and technical education minister Uday Samant due to continuing covid-19 pandemic in the state.
Maharashtra is the worst hit state with covid-19 and conducting the exam in prevailing conditions where more than 5 lakh students would sit for the exam is a huge task, said the minister.
The CET commissioner is also looking for various measures to conduct the exam at taluka and divisional level. The exam was earlier scheduled in April, later postponed to July and August with currently no dates.
