TNAU, Dr YSR Horticulture University collaborate on technologies, programmes, research

Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Dr YSR Horticulture University will exchange scientific info, germplasm, methodology.
NEW DELHI: Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore signed an agreement with Dr YSR Horticultural University, Andhra Pradesh for new technologies, information, programmes, and research. The agreement was signed at TNAU.
The aim of this agreement is to facilitate exchange of scientific information, germplasm, technologies, information and methodology, develop specific cooperative programmes and projects in areas of education, research and extension, registration of students for master’s and PhD programmes etc. between the two universities.
“Dr YSR Horticultural University is committed to develop the need based manpower and technologies to resolve the problems confronting horticulture and enable the horticultural farmers in Andhra Pradesh to make horticulture as the most remunerative enterprise,” said an official statement from TNAU.
V Geethalakshmi, vice chancellor of TNAU, has given her support for bringing this agreement, the university said. T Janakiram, VC of Dr YSR Horticultural University pointed out the need of this collaboration and the means of a way forward.
R Thamizh Vendhan, registrar, TNAU and B Srinivasulu, registrar, Dr YSR Horticultural University signed the agreement and exchanged in the presence of P Irene Vethamoni, dean (Horticulture), Horticultural College and Research Institute, TNAU who took the effort in bringing this agreement. Deans and directors of various directorates of TNAU lso attended the signing ceremony.
