As per media reports, candidates can now download the TNEA random number list 2026 using their email ID and password.
DTE Tamil Nadu uses a random number to break the existing tie between students after the tie persists even after the tie-breaking policy.
The TNEA 2026 random number list is generated using a computerised algorithm that assigns a unique random number to each candidate who completes the TNEA registration process.
These random numbers are used as a tie-breaking mechanism when two or more students have the same merit score. The TNEA random number is considered along with other criteria, such as subject-wise marks and date of birth, to determine the merit ranking of candidates.

TNEA Random Number 2026: How to check?
The steps to check TNEA random number 2026 are as follows.
- Visit the official website at tneaonline.org.
- On the home page, click on the login button.
- On the next page, enter the registered email ID and password.
- Under the login, candidates can access the status tab.
- Under the status tab, candidates can find their TNEA random number.
DOTE Tamil Nadu will issue the TNEA rank list 2026 on June 29. As per DOTE, a total of 3,01,519 students registered for the engineering admissions till the last date of registration.
