UP Police Constable exam 2024 cancelled after paper leak allegation; re-exam in 6 months

The Uttar Pradesh Government has given instructions to provide free travel facilities to the candidates through the UPSRTC.
NEW DELHI: The Uttar Pradesh Police Constable recruitment exam 2024 held on February 17 and 18 has been cancelled after allegations of paper leak. Making the announcement, UP CM Yogi Adityanath said that the re-exam will be held within the next 6 months. The state government has also decided to get the UP Police exam paper leak case investigated by a special task force (STF).
The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board had asked the candidates and general public to submit their representation along with relevant evidence on the question paper leak .
Tagging the UP Police, Yogi Adityanath posted on X: “Orders have been given to cancel the examination-2023 conducted for selection to the posts of Reserve Civil Police and to conduct re-examination within the next 06 months. There can be no compromise with the sanctity of examinations. Those who play with the hard work of the youth will not be spared under any circumstances. Strictest action is certain to be taken against such unruly elements.”
The state government said that the decision to cancel the UP Police Constable recruitment exam 2024 was taken to maintain the highest standards of transparency. It also instructed officials to file FIR against any level of negligence.
Besides the decision to conduct the re-exam, the state government also has given instructions to provide free facilities to the candidates through the services of Uttar Pradesh Transport Corporation.
Several students who appeared in the examination had expressed their concerns about inadequate travel facilities. Videos of candidates sleeping on railway stations and travelling in packed coaches went viral on social media.
