UP school enrolment increased to 1.92 crore since 2017: CM Yogi Adityanath

NEW DELHI: The Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath during the launch event of ‘School Chalo Abhiyan’ for the academic year 2023 said that the number of students enrolled in UP schools have increased to 1.92 crore since 2017.
Congratulating students on the start of the new academic session, the chief minister released the school readiness calendar and teacher manual under Vidya Pravesh.
“Ranilakshmi Bai self-defense training” programme for girls under Mission Shakti, distribution of report cards to students under Nipun Bharat and many other programs started simultaneously today,” the official statement said.
Speaking on the occasion, CM Yogi Adityanath said: ‘It is the responsibility of all the teachers and headmasters to prepare the database of their school according to the gram panchayat/ward and upload this report by creating the Basic Education Department portal.”
“The number of students which was 1 crore 34 lakhs in July 2017 has increased to 1 crore 92 lakhs,” he informed. That is 58 lakh more students have enrolled since 2017.

In January, the Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Department informed that more than 40 lakh students enrolled in primary and upper primary schools in four years under its School Chalo Abhiyan. "In the last 4 years, 3,96,655 out-of-school students and 2,55,136 differently-abled students under the Samarthya Abhiyan enrolled in UP schools," it said.
