Unfair means policy for West Bengal HS 2026 exams

WBCHSE has outlined procedures to be followed if candidates are found using unfair means during the WB HS 2026 exams. The council has specified actions for cases involving prohibited items, misconduct, or malpractice.

Students may face cancellation of examinations, confiscation of admit cards, and appearance before the Malpractice and Misconduct Enquiry Committee (MMEC). Institutions may also face penalties if their students are involved in such activities.

“RA” (Reported Against) should be marked in DWAAR and ASR immediately when a candidate is caught using unfair means; OMR sheets should be packed as per procedure. Carrying prohibited electronic devices or assaulting examination personnel will lead to cancellation of all examinations and enrolment; admit cards must be seized and sent to the council.

The guidelines state that the venue supervisor, centre secretary and centre-in-charge should inform the deputy secretary (Examination) through email without delay. Schools should inform students about these rules; candidates involved in violations will be called before the MMEC, and institutions may be penalised.

  • An examinee will be reported against if he or she:
  • Possesses prohibited electronic gadgets.
  • Misbehaves with or assaults examination staff.
  • Damages examination venue property.
  • Possesses books, notes or loose pages.
  • Fights or quarrels with other candidates.
  • Helps or receives help in answering questions.
  • Engages an impersonator.
  • Offers illegal inducements to staff.
  • Carries question papers, answer scripts or OMR sheets outside the hall.
  • Writes improper words or sentences on the script or OMR.
  • Has mismatched loose sheets compared to the main answer script records.
