WBCHSE revises Class 11, 12 syllabus; to be effective from next academic year

Enrol NowNEW DELHI: The West Bengal Council of Higher Education (WBCHSE) has announced minor changes in Class 11, 12 syllabus for several subjects. The decision comes after the council received suggestions from different quarters. Students can check the revised West Bengal Higher Secondary (HS) curriculum on the official website of the council, wbchse.wb.gov.in.
“Based on suggestions from various quarters, the Council has reviewed syllabus of several subjects under HS curriculum and given below are the subject-wise [ English B, English A, Alternative English, Bengali A, Hindi A, Hindi B, History, Political Science, Accountancy, Costing & Taxation, Business Studies, Education, Science of Well-being, Statistics, Philosophy, Environmental Studies, Economics, Geography, Biological Science ] minor changes made in the review process,” the council said in an official notification.
The WB council said that all the changes made to the syllabus of the concerned subjects will be reflected in the upcoming 4th edition of the syllabus book. This updated version will incorporate the minor revisions and adjustments in various subjects, as part of the review process.
Additionally, the relevant changes will be incorporated into the next version of the model question papers , ensuring that students have access to updated materials in line with the revised syllabus.

WBCHSE informed that the changes outlined in the Class 11 syllabus will not affect students who are already in the process of preparing for the Class 11 semester 2 examination.
The revisions and updates described in the latest notification will be implemented starting from the next academic year, ensuring that future batches of students follow the updated curriculum.
